The Weekly Crime Summary December 18 through 24, 2018

The following is a list of reported auto thefts, burglaries, robberies and other activities occurring in the City of South Pasadena.

THEFT

  • 12-17-18, 12:15 p.m., 1200 block of Fair Oaks (Pavilions). Suspects place loss in bags and leave store without paying. SUSPECT VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: Maroon Honda Accord. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: S1 – Female, Black, wearing a yellow bandana, large hoop earrings, black t-shirt, gray leggings, with a light brown purse. S2 – Female, Black, wearing a white shirt with a dark brown purse. LOSS: Pharmacy items.

  • 12-17-18, 12:25 p.m. to 1:35 p.m., 1400 block of Fremont (SPHS). Suspect takes victim’s unattended loss. SUBJECT ARRESTED: Male, juvenile. LOSS: Wallet, cash, gift cards.

 

  • 12-16-18, 12:00 a.m. to 6 a.m., 1800 block of State. Suspect(s) enter victim’s carport and use a bolt cutter to remove lock securing victim’s loss. LOSS: Bicycles.

 

  • 12-18-18, 10:58 a.m. to 11:14 a.m., 1700 block of Raymondhill. Suspect(s) take loss from victim’s backyard. LOSS: Patio chairs.

 

  • 12-18-18, 4:17 p.m., 1100 block of Fair Oaks (Vons). Suspect takes loss and leaves store without paying. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male, Black, 60 years, facial hair, wearing a dark blue sweater and blue jeans. LOSS: Deodorant, beer.

 

  • 12-18-18, 10:59 a.m., 1200 block of Fair Oaks (Pavilions). Suspect takes loss and leaves store without paying. Suspect is found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 28 years, Costa Mesa. LOSS: Medication.

 

  • 12-19-18, 10:28 a.m., Glendon/El Centro. Suspect takes loss from victim’s unlocked vehicle. Suspect is also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 20 years, Los Angeles. LOSS: Phone charger (recovered).

 

  • 12-21-18, 7:00 p.m., 1100 block of Fair Oaks (Vons). Suspect takes loss and leaves store without paying. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Black, 49 years, Los Angeles. LOSS: Liquor (recovered).

 

  • 11-30-18, 11:44 a.m. to 7 p.m., 1100 block of Huntington. Suspect(s) take loss from victim’s porch. LOSS: Parcel package.

 

  • _12-1-18, 2:50 a.m., 1100 block of Magnolia. ’05 Chevrolet Silverado. Suspect(s) take loss from victim’s vehicle. LOSS: Ladders.

 

  • _12-3-18, 3:45 a.m. to 4:30 a.m., 500 block of Grand. ’15 Mercedes-Benz C300. Suspects enter and ransack victim’s unlocked vehicle. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: S1 – Male, Black, 17-30 years, thin build, wearing dark clothing. S2 – Male, Black, 17-30 years, thin build, wearing dark clothing. LOSS: None.

 

  • _12-18-18, 11:00 PM to 12-19-18, 7:43 a.m., 700 block of La Portada. ’17 Honda Clarity. Suspect(s) take loss from victim’s unlocked vehicle. LOSS: Glasses.

 

IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD FRAUD/CHECK FRAUD

  • _12-22-18, 1:02 AM to 1:45 a.m., 700 block of Fair Oaks. Officer contacts and finds suspect to be in possession of stolen mail, stolen checks, stolen bank cards, stolen identity cards, counterfeit mail key, burglary tools, and drug paraphernalia. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Female, Black, 45 years, Los Angeles.

 

  • _12-7-18, 4:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m.. Suspect(s) steal victim’s personal information.

 

  • _12-13-18, 11:50 a.m. to 12-14-18, 11:50 a.m.. Suspect uses victim’s personal information to gain employment.

 

  • _11-5-18, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., 1100 block of Fremont. Suspect pays for services rendered with a check belonging to another person. The check is later found to be associated with a frozen account.

 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

  • 12-18-18, 4:11 p.m. to 4:50 p.m., 2100 block of Huntington. Suspect(s) gain entry to victim’s residence by prying the rear door open. LOSS: Jewelry.

 

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA ON SCHOOL GROUNDS

  • 12-17-18, 11:40 a.m., 1900 block of Fremont (Almansor Center). Subject is found to be in possession of marijuana on school grounds. SUBJECT ARRESTED: Male, juvenile.

 

INDECENT EXPOSURE

  • _12-19-18, 7:40 a.m., Monterey/Fair Oaks. Suspect touches and exposes his genitals in front of victims. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 47 years.

 

  • 12-21-18, 2:15 p.m., 1300 block of Huntington. Suspect waves at victims to get their attention then exposes her genitals. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Female, White, 35 years, Berkeley.

 

POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

  • 12-19-18, 3:44 p.m., Alhambra/Huntington. Officer conducts a pedestrian stop and finds suspects in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. SUSPECTS ARRESTED: S1 – Female, White, 29 years, Burbank, S2 – Male, White, 35 years, Los Angeles.

 

  • 12-19-18, 11:06 p.m., Alhambra/La France. Officer conducts a traffic stop and finds the subject to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 33 years, Alhambra.

 

FRAUD

  • 12-17-18, 1:07 p.m. to 1:27 p.m., 800 block of Mission. Suspect orders materials from victim and changes the shipping address. Suspect then conducts a chargeback on the transaction.
  • 11-9-18, 10:35 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., 1000 block of Arroyo Verde. Victim orders tickets from a classified ad and pays suspect through an app. Suspect stops communicating with victim and does not send any tickets.

 

FRAUD BY FALSE PRETENSE

  • 12-18-18, 7:58 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2000 block of Fletcher. Victim is contacted by an individual claiming to be from Samsung tech support. Suspect gains access to victim’s computer through remote access. Suspect charges victim for a fee and attempts to transfer funds from victim’s bank account.

 

  • 12-21-18, 2:14 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., 1300 block of Diamond. Victim searches online for a phone number for Apple products. Victim calls a number and suspect answers, pretending to be a sales representative. Suspect instructs victim to purchase gift cards as payment. Victim purchases the cards and reads the serial numbers to suspect.

 

RESISTING/OBSTRUCTING

12-19-18, 9:35 p.m., 800 block of Mission. Officer contacts suspect and suspect approaches officer in a fighting stance. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Black, 29 years, Hartford, CT.

 

UNLAWFUL INTERCOURSE WITH MINOR

  • 12-21-18, 2 p.m. to 4:50 p.m., 1600 block of Huntington. Suspect and victim (Female, juvenile) are acquaintances and have sex. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Asian, 20 years, San Gabriel.

 

DUI

12-23-18, 2:37 a.m., 1500 block of Chelton. Officer conducts a traffic stop and finds suspect to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 21 years, South Pasadena.

 

  • 12-23-18, 10:30 p.m., 1600 block of Mission. Officer conducts a traffic stop and finds suspect to be driving under the influence of alcohol. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 53 years, Alhambra.

 

VANDALISM

•12-18-18 5 p.m. to 12-14-18, 1 p.m., 800 block of Stratford. Suspects cuts victims window with a glass cutter.
