The purpose of this group is to gather a small team of high school students, and allow them to brainstorm ideas and express opinions about how the Library could be better for teens. They will share thoughts about improving the Teen Zone, recommend materials for the Library to purchase, help plan events specifically for teens, and assist at Library programs.

TAB will run from September 19th – December 5th, 2018 with meetings on selected Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. If the fall session is a success, a
second session will take place in the Spring (Feb-April). Students must apply for each
session and may serve a maximum of two. One of the main goals of the group is to plan
events for teens, one of which will take place during either the Teen Read Week in
October or the National Library Week in April, depending on the session.

Students will earn community service hours for attending the meetings and helping with the events.TAB will encourage students to think creatively, meet new people and make friends, work together, problem solve and plan with other teens, and have fun while gaining experience and helping the Library. By joining TAB, they will earn community service hours and can add their achievements to resumes and college applications.
