PRESS RELEASE
The Friends of the South Pasadena Public Library is seeking community members to serve in board positions with the Friends for 2022.
The mission of the 71-year-old nonprofit organization is to raise awareness of and funds for the city library. To do this, the group operates an all-volunteer bookstore that sells donated books and other materials. In the last year, it has also held two dollar-book sales and will sponsor a Holiday Book Sale Dec. 3-4. The organization also offers a yearly concert series through its Restoration Concerts Committee.

The Board is comprised of 13 positions. In addition to offices for president, vice president, secretary and CFO, additional positions exist for operations, membership, fundraising, communications, outreach and endowment finances. Three positions exist for the Bookstore and the Restoration Concerts Series.
The board currently meets on the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m., but discussions are underway to change or vary the meeting dates and times.
The board is seeking individuals who are available to attend meetings and complete projects. Experience in nonprofits, libraries, business operations, fundraising, finance, communications, social media, endowments, management, donor systems, writing, website development, event planning or related fields is desirable.
To express interest in serving, contact Karen Bell, Nominating Committee Chair, at karenhannabell@gmail.com, as soon as possible.
