South Pasadena High School (SPHS) Assistant Principal Chad Bryant announced to staff on Friday, March 6, that he will officially leave the district on Tuesday, June 30. Bryant is departing after eight years with SPUSD to pursue his career goal of becoming a school principal elsewhere.
Bryant has served as the SPHS assistant principal for the past three years. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in analyzing attendance, grading, and testing data alongside Assistant Principal Vanessa Blackwood.
Principal John Eldred praised Bryant’s relentless work ethic and dedication to the campus.
“He grinds… the guy is non-stop. He’s like a machine,” Eldred shared, noting that Bryant will be sorely missed. “This is literally the best team I have ever worked on.”
Connecting with Students
Beyond the data, Bryant valued his daily interactions with South Pasadena students during brunch and lunch.
He recently noted positive social shifts on campus post-COVID. Bryant observed that instead of isolating with video games, more students are choosing to set their phones aside and have meaningful conversations with each other.
