World Harvest Charities and Family Services is excited to announce a new initiative in partnership with the Crowell Family YMCA to provide nourishing and fresh food support to families impacted by recent fires. Starting mid-September, World Harvest will conduct on-site food distributions for families already connected to the YMCA’s Fire Relief program.
Distributions will include fresh produce, bread, rice, beans, milk, eggs, proteins—both fresh and frozen—and other essential items, ensuring families have consistent access to nutritious food while they focus on recovery and rebuilding.
The Crowell YMCA regularly serves over 450 households, with 15–20 families visiting daily during operating hours (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, 10 AM–3 PM). With their strong track record in fire relief and wraparound support, the YMCA has become a trusted anchor for families—and a natural partner for World Harvest as efforts expand.
World Harvest will deploy a dedicated bilingual team to manage distributions and coordinate with YMCA staff to address the community’s needs.
“This initiative gives us the opportunity to show up for families who are facing unimaginable challenges after the fires,” said Glen Curado, Founder and Executive Director of World Harvest. “We are fortunate to work with respected partners like the Crowell Y, their volunteers, and the many communities they serve. Together we will bring nutritious, quality food to those rebuilding their lives. Angelenos take care of each other, and together we can make a meaningful difference.”
