A contractor for the City, PCI, will be re-striping Mission Street between Fair Oaks Avenue and Garfield Avenue from August 31 through September 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The work will include the intersections of Kaylor Lane, Brent Avenue, Park Avenue, Marengo Avenue, Stratford Avenue, Avon Avenue, and Montrose Avenue.
Striping improvements will include refreshing existing lane lines, centerlines, bike lanes, crosswalks, stop bars, legends, and other pavement markings. A new coat of paint with retroreflective glass beads will be applied to improve nighttime visibility throughout the corridor.
Work will be performed with appropriate traffic control measures in place, including cones and signage, to safely guide vehicles through the work area while maintaining access for residents and businesses. A striping truck will first apply the lane lines, centerlines, and bike lanes, followed by a stencil truck that will complete the crosswalks, stop bars, legends, and other pavement markings.
Motorists are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work area, follow all posted traffic control signage, and avoid driving or parking over freshly painted markings. Minor traffic delays may occur during working hours.
