Next meeting is on Saturday, September 8th (2nd Saturday). We are very pleased that our South Pasadena City Treasurer, Gary Pia, has agreed to come speak about the Utility User’s Tax Repeal. The repeal of this tax will be on the November ballot. Be sure to come to the meeting to find out what this is all about and how the possible repeal will affect our city.

  • Save the Date: WISPPA Special Event – Behind the Scenes at the Pasadena Playhouse.CEO and Artistic Director Danny Feldman will be giving WISPPA members and their guests a look behind the scenes on September 15 from 10 a.m. to noon. (Refreshments will be served) There will also be an opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for the play that afternoon, Native Gardens, at a discounted rate of $40. Make a day of it with your fellow WISPPA members – morning tour, lunch, and then the afternoon play! Look for your invitation in your email in the next few days! World-renowned Venezuelan visual artist Nathaly Bonilla first solo exhibition “Empty Nest”Opening Reception August 10th at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The exhibition is based on a blend of portraits and natural environments inspired by personal stories shared by different people during Bonilla’s sessions as a tattoo artist. A very special Film/Author Night screening of “The Disaster Artist,” the acclaimed 2017 comedy/drama will be presented in the Library Community Room on Friday, August 10 at 7 pm. The free event will also showcase Greg Sestero, the writer of the acclaimed book that was adapted into a Golden Globe-winning film. Greg’s 2013 memoir “The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made” was published by Simon & Schuster and adapted into a Golden Globe-winning film by Warner Bros. It showcases an all-star cast including James Franco, Seth Rogen, Dave Franco, Sharon Stone, Bryan Cranston, and Alison Brie. The hilarious and heartfelt film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay at the 2018 Oscars. Free.

Bradfest II featuring Twanguero, Rose’s Pawn Shop + more Saturday August 25 at 5:00pm Twanguero and Rose’s Pawn Shop will ignite another magical evening in the Arroyo for the 2nd annual Bradfest (aka Summerfest). Also appearing will be I See Hawks in LA, Abby & the Myth, and the Pasadena Playboys. In addition to all the music on 2 stages from 5 to 10pm, there will be a song circle/acoustic jam near the 1st tee. Plenty of fun for the whole family including the par-3 golf course, mini-golf, driving range, and other activities. Cruz’n for Roses Classic Car Show Sunday, September 16 at 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM Cost: Free Location: Mission Street Between Fair Oaks and Meridian, South Pasadena The South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee invites you to their 14th annual Classic Car Show along legendary Route 66 (Mission Street). The show will feature hundreds of hot rods, custom cars, and classics, as well as a raffle, trophies, refreshments, food, exhibits, and vendors of all sorts. Car clubs and car enthusiasts are invited to join in the fun and display their cars. Independent judges will award trophies in all 18 car categories.
