Having served in this position several times before, Mahmud’s most recent tenure began in December 2020 after being elected by her City Council colleagues. Anticipating a busy year ahead, she gave the South Pasadenan News a comprehensive list of the issues she wishes to address.

Tuesday’s virtual meeting will prominently focus on business-related issues facing the city as it continues to abide by COVID safety regulations and recover from economic downturn from the past year. On this issue Mahmud stated in January, ““We need to have people be employed before we can restore economic health” and that the pandemic has had “a profound impact on society and the way we live.”

Mahmud’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session in which citizens can engage with the Mayor.
