A teenager, riding a bicycle that collided with a vehicle, was transported to Huntington Hospital following the accident just before 8 p.m. Wednesday night at the intersection of Fair Oaks Avenue and Mission Street in South Pasadena.
Police and Fire Department officials were dispatched to the scene involving the bicyclist and late model EOS Volkswagen in front of Fair Oaks Pharmacy.
Captain Kris Saxon of the SPFD said the vehicle was heading southbound on Fair Oaks Avenue when it turned west onto Mission Street where the collision with the bicyclist took place.
Saxon said the teen appeared to receive only minor injuries. “Obviously, we can’t see internal injuries,” he explained. “But, externally what we saw were lacerations on his head. We transported him to the hospital so he could receive some stitches and get further evaluated.”

Saxon said the driver of the vehicle was not injured.

Time to add bike lanes to Fair Oaks.
