South Pasadena Police Officer Jeff Holland said a seizure by driver may have contributed to accident

Southbound traffic on Fremont Avenue was redirected by officers onto Oxley Street Wednesday afternoon for about 40 minutes as police investigated a two-car collision, resulting in one hitting a tree.

A Honda CRV, traveling northbound on Fremont, crossed into the southbound lane in the 1000 block of Fremont Avenue and collided with a Forerunner Toyota before coming rest after hitting a tree. “Besides the seizure, I don’t believe there were any other injuries,” explained Holland, noting that small a boy was in a car seat but was not injured in the crash.

The driver of the Honda CRV was transported to Huntington Memorial Hospital for treatment following the 5:30 p.m. accident.
