Three vehicles were involved in an expanded collision at the intersection of Orange Grove Blvd and Magnolia St, Wednesday afternoon at around 2:30 p.m..
A silver sedan, traveling eastbound on Magnolia, appeared to have t-boned a white pickup truck which was driving northbound on Orange Grove. The third vehicle, an idly parked red pickup truck with no one inside, was sideswiped.
Five South Pasadena area units, three police department and two fire, responded to the accident, with a medical team assisting.
The driver of the sedan, an adult woman, was reported by sources to have sustained injuries and required assistance in exiting her car which had its airbags deployed. She was eventually put on a stretcher and transported to a medical facility by paramedics.
Our reporter on the scene observed the other driver involved in the crash, who is an adult male in the white pickup, stumbled out of his vehicle while dizzy, took several steps, and sat himself down on the curb. It is unclear at the time of this report if he required medical assistance as well.
Based on observation on scene, no other passengers were confirmed to be involved at the time.
A witness and resident of the neighborhood at the scene commented, “What I’m worried about is that this kind of accident at this (intersection) happens about every three months and has been happening for years. I’ve been asking the city government to do something about it to get something to slow down the cars on Orange Grove.”
