The South Pasadena High School Drama Department is proud to present their spring musical, The Addams Family – Friday April 20 at 7pm, Saturday April 21 at 7pm and Sunday April 22 at 2pm. It is the first spring musical with new department head, Nick Hoffa, at the helm and it promises to be a big, bold, fun show for the whole community to enjoy. There is tremendous buzz about this show from the cool sets to the ghoulish make-up and costumes to the big dance numbers and the swan song of some very talented senior actors. You do not want to miss this terrific show!
Said Hoffa, “I’m starting to miss the show already. The students are having a blast on stage and if people come out, I think they will too.”
Senior Rose McCollough is thrilled to be playing Wednesday Addams and tells us, “Mr. Hoffa has really helped me come out of my shell this year and jump into my character more than I knew I could. I’ve reached boundaries I never knew imaginable; I’m so happy and love where I am.”
If you’ve been living under a rock and have yet to hear about this big, splashy musical pulling into South Pasadena for one weekend of unforgettable performances, it is of course about the iconic Addams Family; Gomez! Morticia! Lurch! Wednesday, Uncle Fester and all the usual suspects in all their quirky glory in a Broadway musical full of great songs and terrific dance numbers. What’s Wednesday Addams to do when she finds herself in love with a local “normal boy”, Lucas Beineke? Bring his whole family to dinner of course! Hilarity and chaos ensues as these two families collide; seemingly worlds apart at first but are they really?
Get thee to the SPHS campus this weekend for a spooktacularly good time!
