May 2-6, 2022 is Teacher Appreciation Week, and SPUSD would like to thank all of the outstanding teachers at our elementary schools, middle school and high school for their strength, perseverance, and care for our students. The work they do every day is so important to the success of our community’s children and young adults.

Recently, faculty and staff at SPUSD schools voted for a Teacher of the Year to represent each school. Congratulations to the following teachers:

This amazingly talented group of teachers participated in a round of interviews with a panel of former district teachers of the year who selected elementary art teacher, Sarit Swanborn, as the representative from SPUSD in the Los Angeles County Office of Education Teacher of the Year program. The award recognizes educators who have shown exemplary dedication, compelling classroom practices, positive accomplishments and professional commitment to their students.

Congratulations to the Teachers of the Year and to all our teachers who have committed their lives to education. We appreciate them today and every day!
