Resolution by the South Pasadena Chinese-American Club Regarding Violence Against Asian American & Pacific Islanders (AAPI)

The SPCC believes we should provide a united stance against such hate so that it may not prosper here

Resolution by the South Pasadena Chinese-American Club, March 2021

The South Pasadena Chinese-American Club (SPCC) and its Executive Board stands firmly and unequivocally against the escalation in violence towards the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Community. Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, the AAPI community across LA County, throughout California, and across this entire nation have faced intensifying racism, inflammatory remarks, prejudicial rhetoric, and horrific incidents of hate that have resulted in serious physical harm and death to innocent AAPI individuals. Such blatant racism and xenophobic language is detrimental and harmful to everyone in our community.

The South Pasadena Chinese-American Club believes we should provide a united stance against such hate so that it may not prosper here. Families, children, students, and residents should not have to fear such racism coming into our small town where neighbors look out for neighbors and people take a stand against social injustice. Violence affects us all. It is only together that we can combat the escalation of hate and violence towards the AAPI community.
