Congratulations to the South Pasadena High School (SPHS) Varsity Virtual Enterprise team who recently won first place at the National Business Plan competition in New York City. This dynamic team prevailed over more than 500 teams from 20 different states.
iKOMO’s journey began in September 2018, when the Varsity Virtual Enterprise students created the iKOMO company – a digital pet company – using blockchain technology to create crypto-collectible pets. iKOMO highlights the advancing capabilities of modern day technology and fosters an educational online community to promote world-wide financial literacy.
The students were selected into “employees” of the following departments: operations, animation, finance, technology, sales, marketing, human resources, and administration. These students worked with community business mentors and partners who helped the team perfect the business plans and presentations.

Virtual Enterprise is a national, educational non-profit with a mission to transform students through authentic business experiences in order to prepare them for fulfilling, financially-secure futures. Teacher Cathy Mason oversees the virtual enterprise program at SPHS.
