On Saturday, October 15, 2022, female math students from eleven middle schools in the Pasadena area gathered at La Cañada High School for the annual WISMO (Women in STEM Math Olympiad) competition.

The Tiger Cubs from South Pasadena Middle School roared to victory, taking first, second, and third place in the team events and shining brightly in the individual categories. Teams consisted of four girls who were challenged by three rounds of increasingly difficult questions. The questions were similar to those the students will see later in the year in the International Math Olympiad and Mathcounts.
