PRESS RELEASE:

With the impact of COVID -19, this year’s Tiger Run will not have a set route, it’s whatever the runners want to do to show their Tiger spirit.

It could 1K, 5K, 10K, really any distance that they’d like to walk, stroll, jog or run safely on the streets – or on their treadmill. For those that are feeling busy and have no time to train, they can pick their own race date between Friday, November 20th and Saturday, December 5th. And just like past years there’s also the Cub Run – which is also virtual – for kids that includes their own Cub Run t-shirt.

It’s exciting to be able to include out of town friends, family and alumni who can share their Tiger Spirit in their own towns while still helping to raise much needed funds for clubs, activities and teams at South Pasadena High School.

Why is the Tiger Run so important this year? The Booster Club’s primary fund raiser, Tiger Bingo, has been on hold since early March due to COVID-19 and the absence of these funds is being felt across the 50+ clubs, activities and teams that the Booster’s support. Whether it’s funding for grants and scholarships, helping the clubs and activities that are working and competing virtually or in preparation for the next sports season, now more than ever the students need our help to ensure these activities are supported.

As an added incentive, registrants can designate $10 of the race fee to go directly to the club, activity or team of their choice.
