During the past month, Advanced Sports Medicine students visited PE classes to demonstrate foam rolling and self-stretching exercises using a stretch strap. They also practiced their proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) techniques and used percussive therapy devices. Preparing for Athlete Recovery Day, a day when student athletes will receive treatment from advanced sports medicine students to help them recover from the physical demands of athletics, the students enjoy the hands-on opportunities to share exercises and skills they have learned.

Students in the Introduction to Sports Medicine classes are wrapping up a unit on Emergency Procedures, and they practiced spine boarding as one part of the overall lesson. CTE teacher Andre Zumaeta leads the Sports Medicine students using various activities to expose them to this career field.
