Pregame commemoration was held to honor the late Tom Ashby followed by a moment of silence by all attending and participating in SPHS annual homecoming game versus Temple City. The Tiger game announcer read to the crowd Tom Ashby’s accomplishments during his years as popular AYSO and SPHS soccer coach.
He was also a Tiger Hall of Fame inductee for his athletic contributions during his years as a student and his post graduation support of its sports programs. South Pasadena Athletic Director, Anthony Chan, presented flowers to Ashby’s widow, Kathleen. Members of the family and friends attended the ceremony and she wore Tom’s letterman’s jacket as a tribute to her late husband.
