On Saturday, June 10, the South Pasadena High School Alumni Association will host its annual all-class alumni reunion picnic at Garfield Park, from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. SPHS grads from near and far are expect to gather for the annual get-together.
“The annual picnic is one of the traditions that makes South Pasadena such a special place,” said SPHSAA President Mike Thurman. “We are excited to welcome back alums from the 1940’s all the way through the 2020’s.”
A hot dog lunch with soft drinks, bottled water, chips and chocolate chip cookies, will be served at noon. There is no charge for admission and all SPHS attendees are welcome to attend.
The SPHS Alumni Association’s primary goal is raising funds for the annual scholarships awarded to help graduating seniors continue their education. In 2022, the nonprofit Association awarded more than $50,000 in scholarships for the first time, and it expects to top that amount this spring.
All SPHS grads and attendees are invited to join the fun. In addition, anyone who would to volunteer to help with the picnic is encouraged to meet beforehand at the at the picnic tables near the play area in the Park.
