The South Pasadena Senior Center, located at 1102 Oxley Street, in South Pasadena invites senior citizens to take advantage of programs and services offered to enhance their quality of life daily

The following will be offered at the South Pasadena Senior Center.

Monday, March 9, 10:30 a.m. – Emotional Intelligence – This presentation defines emotional intelligence, the components, and explains how it impacts an individual’s daily functioning in the context of interpersonal relationships. It also imparts tips on improving one’s emotional intelligence in order to improve their quality of life. Presented by LA County Depart. Mental Health.  Advanced sign up needed.

Tuesday, March 10, 9:00 a.m. – Spanish Review – class is for the student with some experience of the Spanish language.  Group is led by volunteer Less Brown and offered to members of the Senior Center.

Wednesday, March 11, 8:30 a.m. – Glucose and Blood Pressure Screening offered by Huntington Hospital.  Walk-ins welcome. 

Thursday, March 12, 9:00 a.m. – Spanish for Beginners – group meets regularly for the student with no previous knowledge.  $10 book fee required and is offered to members.

Thursday, March 12, 9:00 a.m. – AARP Safe Driver, The AARP Smart Driver course is the nation’s refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. In many states, drivers may benefit from a discount on their auto insurance premium up-on completing the course. And you will learn something new along the way. Cost $15 members and $20 non-members. Advance sign up required. Payment made payable to AARP.

Friday, March 13, 1:00 p.m. – Friday Cinema featuring “Joker” a 2019 film lasting 2 hours and 2 minutes. All seniors are welcome. Lunch is served Monday through Friday by reservation. Cost per person $2.75 for onsite and reservations are necessary.
