Rotary Remembers Baseball Great and Humanitarian Roberto Clemente

Rod Gregson , the guest speaker at the September 25 Rotary meeting at Oneonta Church in South Pasadena, talked about his favorite player

Rod Gregson presented a program on Tuesday, Sept. 25, on Hall of Fame baseball player the late Roberto Clemente of the Pittsburgh Pitrates.

Clemente is Gregson’s favorite athlete of all time. Clemente died tragically in a plane crash while delivering relief supplies to Nicaragua.

Gregson talked about Clemente’s play on the field and humanitarian efforts off it.

The Rotary Club will not meet for their regular first-of-the-month evening social on October 2.  Instead, members will be attending the South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce Installation Dinner.

The next noon Rotary meeting will be on Tuesday, October 9 at noon.  The speaker will be Rotarian Dr. David Chen who will give a craft talk on his career as a chiropractor.

The South Pasadena Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon, except for the first Tuesday of the month, in the Tower Room at the Oneonta Church.  On the first Tuesday of the month the club normally meets for an evening social gathering at 6 pm at The Canoe House.  Guests are welcome to attend all meetings.
