Two juveniles who told police they were perpetrating a prank, were assaulted by the resident of a home near Eddie Park Saturday evening, according to the South Pasadena Police Department.
SPPD did not release the names of any of the parties involved.
Sgt. Spencer Louie told the South Pasadenan News the juveniles, both residents of South Pasadena, came to the door of a home on the 2000 block of Edgewood Dr. around 8 pm Thursday night and asked for directions to the park, even though the park was right across the street. They fled, but the resident followed the juveniles by car. After he caught up to them, he grabbed them by the arm. He would not allow them to leave, instead ordering them to sit down until police arrived.
There was no arrest at the scene, but Louie said the case is being referred to the Los Angeles District Attorney for possible battery charges against the resident.
Once again, people are assaulted and SPPD let’s the suspect go even with reliable witness statements.
Can someone explain to me exactly what is is that we pay them for?
