The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Foundation has proudly announced its 2025 grant awards, committing more than $200,000 to 21 deserving organizations across the San Gabriel Valley. These grants are earmarked to bolster a variety of new and ongoing programs designed to benefit children, teens, adults, and seniors within the community.

This year’s significant funding includes contributions from the Foundation’s highly successful 2024 Golf Classic, presented by J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., which raised over $100,000 in net proceeds. Demonstrating a continued commitment to broadening its impact, the Foundation is also welcoming five new organizations to its roster of grant recipients this year.

Since its establishment in 1983, the Foundation has served as a vital channel for charitable giving from the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association, its members, and various supporters. Together, the Association and the Foundation are dedicated to making a positive difference in Pasadena through charitable contributions, volunteer efforts, and active community involvement. To date, the Foundation has impressively funded over $5 million in charitable contributions, investing in people through sustainable programs.

Spotlight on Key 2025 Grant Recipients

Among the 21 grants awarded, two organizations received substantial funding for their impactful community initiatives:

  • $35,000 Grant: Sierra Madre Library The Sierra Madre Library aims to inspire lifelong learning by providing access to enriching information, programs, and resources. This significant grant will support the creation of a dedicated teen room – a first for the library – as part of a major state-funded renovation. The new, inclusive space will be equipped with academic resources, games, furniture, and technology, fostering connection, supporting learning, and catering to the evolving needs of the community’s youth.
  • $20,000 Grant: Partnership for Success (PFS) Founded in 1990, Partnership for Success is a collaborative effort between Pasadena independent schools (Chandler, Mayfield Junior, Polytechnic, Westridge) and the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD). The grant will support its nine-summer academic enrichment program, which serves approximately 400 economically disadvantaged PUSD students annually. Starting after fourth grade and continuing through high school graduation, PFS helps close achievement gaps by leveraging partner school resources to deliver a high-quality educational experience at no cost to students, thereby removing financial barriers to academic and personal growth.

In addition to these, 19 other community initiatives received grants of up to $10,000.

Diverse Support Across Key Sectors

The Foundation’s grants are thoughtfully distributed across three main categories:

  • Education (including Early Childhood Learning, STEAM/STEM, and Literacy)
  • Sports and Recreation
  • Visual and Performing Arts
