
Six city commissioners who have stepped down from their assignments were honored by the South Pasadena City Council last week and presented certificates of appreciation by Mayor Dr. Richard Schneider for serving in a variety of capacities.
“These people have devoted many hours each month to their commissions,” said Schneider. “They are the real heroes of our city.”
The following were recognized by the council for their contributions to the city:
Susan Masterson, Design Review Board, 2010 – 2017
Susan Masterson was honored in appreciation of contributing seven years on the Design Review Board and dedicated commitment to preserving property values and shaping new development in the city.
Alan Reynolds, Freeway and Transportation Commission, 2012 -2017
Alan Reynolds was recognized for more than five years of volunteer service on the Freeway and Transportation Commission and dedicated commitment to studying and investigating the Gold Line, proposed 710 North Extension, and proposals of regional transportation agencies that impact the South Pasadena Community.
Kris Morrish, Planning Commission, 2012 – 2017
Kris Morrish was recognized for serving on the city’s Planning Commission for more than five years and her dedicated commitment to providing oversight on orderly and consistent physical residential and commercial development projects.
Jose Luis Zavala, Parks and Recreation Commission, 2012 -2017
Jose Luis Zavala was honored for his five-year service on the Parks and Recreation Commission. He showed a dedicated commitment to enhancing leisure opportunities, social and cultural needs to the South Pasadena community.
Daniel Kreinbring, Animal Commission, 2015 -2017
For more than two years Daniel Kreinbring served on the city’s Animal Commission and dedicated a commitment to recognizing the value of promoting humane education, animal welfare and the attitude of kindness and respect toward all animals throughout the South Pasadena community.
Rick Thomas, Library Board of Trustees, 2015 – 2017
Rick Thomas was honored for his two years of volunteer service on the South Pasadena Library Board of Trustees and dedicated commitment to promoting public awareness of the library’s operations and exceptional service to the city.
