Dean Serwin and Yuki Cutcheon from the No on Proposition N Committee addressed the Rotary Club of South Pasadena on Tuesday, August 21.  The initiative, which will be on the November ballot, will repeal the City of South Pasadena’s 7.5 percent Utilities Users Tax, which has been in place in some form since 1983.

The pair talked about the history of the UUT and urged against the repeal of the tax, which is the second largest source of the City of South Pasadena’s General Fund revenue and, if repealed, would result in drastic cuts in city services.

The Aug. 28 program featured James Kennedy from Beach Cities Solar Consulting who spoke on solar power.  The South Pasadena Rotary Club meets every Tuesday at noon in the Tower Room of the Oneonta Congregational Church except for the first Tuesday of the month when they meet at The Canoe House at 6 p.m. for an informal social.
