UPDATED: 5:25pm Monday –
South Pasadena Fire & Rescue arrived on the scene about 5:20pm, and the child was pronounced dead at 5:26pm according to the LASD Metro Division.
11:00pm Sunday: Initial reports at the scene, and subsequent followup reports confirm a teenage male was struck by the westbound train. The incident occurred Sunday night approximately 5:10pm.

The identity of the teen boy, or where he was from was not released by officials at this time. The investigation is still underway at the time of this report.
The location of the incident was on the Gold Line, westbound tracks approximately 600 feet down the track from the rail-crossing intersection at Arroyo Verde Rd, behind the Ostrich Farm Lofts.
The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the LA County Sheriff’s Department, and Metro Personnel. The South Pasadena Police Department was contacted, but has no information at this time.
