Led by their General Manager, Shan Zhao, TeaMorrow has a special mission: “We believe the tea house serves as a center of social interaction, and tea provides a way for people to connect with each other.”

At TeaMorrow, they believe in going beyond the products they offer. They’re a fusion restaurant that is open to everyone from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., seven days a week. Zhao emphasizes, “We encourage people of all backgrounds to come here and creatively discover this platform. TeaMorrow might bring out the artist and poet in you and you are also defining who we are and what we are capable of.”

Like many businesses, TeaMorrow has adapted to the digital age. Their website, teamorrow.com, provides customers a platform for online ordering. Since the shutdowns of COVID-19, Zhao has observed an exponential rise in their e-commerce, suggesting a successful integration to online ordering for many patrons. With vivid pictures and detailed descriptions, customers can easily place their orders and pick them up at the restaurant.

TeaMorrow has taken technology adoption a notch higher by integrating a new kiosk device into their operations. This feature enhances the convenience for their guests, and according to Zhao, it creates a “Starbucks-like” experience.

When asked about the best part of running a business in South Pasadena, Zhao couldn’t help but mention the tight-knit community. He described South Pasadena as a place that makes business owners feel like residents and friends, rather than town outsiders. From the neighboring businesses, to all the regulars, the supportive and homey vibe of the community is palpable.
