James Reynolds, actor and recent Daytime Emmy award winner does quite a bit more than just acting. He is also on the Board of Directors for SPARC, the South Pasadena Arts Council. He joins his wife Lissa Reynolds in this endeavor not only as a 40 year veteran of stage, screen and television but, as a contributor to the arts in our humble community.

Many know James as Abe Carver a character that James originated and continues to play since 1981, a role that he has held longer than any African-American actor in the history of television. Lissa and James are owners and artistic directors of the Fremont Centre Theatre here in South Pasadena, a theater that has been giving back to the community since its inception.

It is important to realize the impact that the arts have on our community and what an honor to have such talented people so openly endorsing and contributing to the arts, be it stage or otherwise. SPARC is one of the cornerstones to our town and one whose impact is seen on a regular basis.
