CERT Program | Fire Department Offering Emergency Response Classes

The training is a comprehensive program detailing the ways to assist friends, family, co-workers and the community in a small or large scale disaster.

The Fire Department is hosting the first Community Emergency Response Training (CERT) since the start of the pandemic. The training will be held at the fire station April 23, 30 and May 7th from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Registration and additional information is available on the city website under “Emergency Preparedness”, and also by clicking here.

CERT is a community based group of volunteers that have completed a federally recognized training course taught by Public Safety personnel and First Responders. The training is a comprehensive program detailing the ways to assist friends, family, co-workers and the community in a small or large scale disaster.

The South Pasadena Public Safety Commission’s goal for CERT training is to ensure that in the event of a major disaster, if fire, police, utility, and medical personnel are outnumbered by emergencies, neighbors will be trained to help with immediate life-saving and life sustaining needs.
