Police searching for reported robbery at gunpoint suspect by the intersection of Figueroa and York in Highland Park, suspect possibly fled into Arroyo Seco over York bridge connecting to South Pasadena

Police (LAPD) are currently advising caution as they search for a reported armed suspect in the South Pasadena/ Highland Park area.

At approximately 10:30 a.m., Tuesday morning, a robbery at gunpoint occurred in the 99 Cents Store – Big 5 Sporting Goods – Penny’s Burgers shopping complex by the Figueroa/ York intersection in Highland Park.

The suspect is believed to have fled towards Pasadena Avenue across the York bridge spanning the border of Highland Park/ South Pasadena into the Arroyo Seco.

Police air support is aiding in the pursuit of the suspect and LAPD is on the scene at the retail complex.

Reports say suspect is reported to be male hispanic, 5’11”, blue denim pants, black t-shirt, weapon was a black handgun wrapped in a blue bandanna.

Suspect is still at large.
