A car hit a gas pump at the 76 station located on the corner of Glenarm Street & Arroyo Parkway – the entrance of the 110 Freeway.
Pasadena authorities reported more than 1,300 gallons of gasoline was spilled and is draining into the Alhambra wash. People in the area reported a strong gasoline odor on border of San Marino and South Pasadena.
Residents were advised to stay indoors and keep all windows and doors closed.
Hazmat was on the scene, and the spill was contained. The incident is expected to last about 6 hours.
If anyone is experiencing severe illness is advised to call 911.
