LOCAL COVERAGE: Fire on Monterey Road | Multiple Fire Departments Respond

Fire departments from South Pasadena, Los Angeles, San Marino, & Pasadena respond to a fire on the 100 block on Monterey Road Friday at about 1:24pm.

Witnesses on the scene reported to the South Pasadenan that a large tree was engulfed in flames, and up to a dozen fire fighters were in the brush working to put out the blaze.

The location in-between properties made this fire a potential threat to multiple residents – including two apartment buildings.

It’s unclear at the time of the initial report the cause.  Check back as will be updating this story.

The fire crews worked as a team in force to quickly get the fire out.

Fire officials questioned bystanders as they investigated the situation.
