Come one and all to see Charles Dickens’ remarkable transformative masterpiece – A Christmas Carol at South Pasadena Theatre Workshop! “Our goal for the past fourteen years has been to bring live professional theatre to our community and you won’t want to miss this ensemble production which opens even the hardest heart to the promise of renewal and joy,” says Artistic Director Sally Smythe. The ensemble features eight professional actors and three children playing a multitude of roles in an hour long delight for people of all ages.
Stephen Godwin, Managing Director, takes the helm as director in this second year re-mount which features again, the marvelous Robert Cesario as Scrooge, and the rest of the cast in multiple roles including Sally Smythe as Marley’s Ghost and Mrs Filcher; Kila Packet as Bob Cratchit and Mr Fezziwig; Schuyler Mastain as Fred and Old Joe; Lauren Vogel as Belle and Martha Cratchit; Christian Labertew as Young Scrooge and Peter Cratchit; Michaela Ivey as Ghost of Christmas Past and Mrs Cratchit; Daisy Donohue as Mrs Fezziwig and Ghost of Christmas Present; and Oona Bea Cassell and Alice Marie doubling as Little Fan and Sally Cratchit; and Livius Rajan as Boy Scrooge and Tiny Tim.

A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser, hard and sharp as flint who one Christmas Eve is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley and warned to change his ways or end up an eternally wandering and joyless soul. Scrooge is then visited by three spirits – Christmas Past, Christmas Present, and Christmas Future – who all carry the keys to his reclamation. Lo and behold, he wakes on Christmas morn a changed man full of joy and goodwill for all.
