Honoring Women’s Achievements Through Engaging Programs

In recognition of Women’s History Month, LA County Library is hosting a variety of events and programs throughout March. These activities aim to highlight the contributions of women in history, culture, and contemporary society, offering engaging learning experiences for all ages.

Trailblazers in Conversation with Shelia, Sylvia, & Melissa Burlock

Join County Librarian Skye Patrick for an insightful virtual discussion with natural hair advocates Shelia, Sylvia, and Melissa Burlock. The conversation will explore the rich history of Black hair and its significance in women’s lives.

Women in STEM

Children ages 7-11 can discover the inspiring stories of women pioneers in STEM fields while participating in an interactive STEM activity.

Black Mamas & Maternal Mortality

March 28, 2025 | 3 – 5 PM | Black Resource Center at AC Bilbrew Library
Join Black mothers, birth workers, and healthcare professionals for a critical discussion on maternal mortality and the health disparities affecting Black communities.
