  • WISPPA welcomes new member Shadi Towfighi!
  • Update on Water Discoloration To assist residents with understanding this discoloration issue, the City has developed a comprehensive FAQ. and has an update on the city website.
  • City Passport Service Moves to Library 

    Residents may submit passport applications by appointment only.

    Appointments can be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, and at 9 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. on Mondays. Call: 626-403-7330. Appointments must be scheduled at least one week in advance.

  • Library to Host Digital Storytelling Workshop to Record Stories about the Freeway 710 Extension Fight The Library hopes to gather stories about the 710 Extension fight and the shining legacy of community activism and engagement that grew out of that struggle. The Library wants to hear from long-time residents and their families, newcomers, artists, community activists, nonprofit organization members, and civic leaders. Only 15 community members can sign up to participate. Community members can sign up for the Library’s two-day workshop to digitally record their stories. It will take place in the South Pasadena Library Community Room on Friday, June 29 and Saturday June 30 from 9 am to 5 p.m. on both days. Click here for more details.

South Pasadena Farmers’ Market Health and Wellness Festival on Thursday, June 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visit local health care providers and organizations and learn how they can help support your healthy lifestyle. The festival is free to the community as part of a South Pasadena Chamber of Commerce effort to make connections for the community and create a strong local economy. The South Pasadena Farmers’ Market is open every Thursday, rain or shine, from 4 – 8 pm (summer hours). It is located on Meridian Ave. and El Centro Street, south of Mission Street. Find California-grown and certified organic produce in your own back yard, as well as wonderful prepared foods and a festive small-town atmosphere.
An Author Night showcasing “Ali’s Bees,” an award-winning 2017 book and play by Dr. Bruce Olav Solheim. Thursday, June 7th at 7 p.m. The free event for students, family members, friends, and everyone else will open with a talented group of young actors performing a few scenes from “Ali’s Bees” that will bring the story to life. Their half hour performance will be followed by a presentation with author/playwright Solheim, the book’s illustrator Gabby Untermayerova, and a representative from the Council on American Islamic Relations. Sisters In Crimve Chapter Meeting Guest Speaker: Lee J. Stonum will talk about what it’s really like to defend people, navigate the legal system, and work for justice. Got questions? Lee’s got answers. Public Hearing -SR710 North Project Wednesday, June 13 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A draft EIR/EIS was released for public comment in March 2015. Based on this new information, a focused RDEIR/SDEIS has been prepared for public review and comment. The proposed alternatives fro the project include: The Transportation System Management/Transportation Demand Management Alternative (TSM/TDM, the Bus Rapid Transit Alternative (BRT), the Light Rail Transit Aternative (LRT) and the Freeway Tunnel Alternative. SPARC’s Kickoff to Summer Dance Party Saturday, June 16, from 6:30 – 10 pm, Come celebrate with us and support SPARC and the arts in South Pasadena, featuring acclaimed DJ Black Rabbit. The Dance Party takes place at the War Memorial Building, 435 Fair Oaks Ave in South Pasadena. There will be food, drinks and a raffle of wonderful gifts from our local businesses. DJ Black Rabbit has been DJing professionally for 10 years. Originally hailing from Philadelphia Pa and now residing in Los Angeles he brings a unique style of blends and mixes that has been shaped by providing music for clubs, lounges, and private events all over the east coast. Series of music concerts produced by the Pascale Music Institute (formerly the South Pasadena Strings Program) sponsored by the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena. The concerts will include a variety of music from Classical to Jazz and will be held the first Sunday of the month (2017-2018) at the Clubhouse. Professional musicians from the LA Philharmonic and students and faculty of the Institute will perform. Proceeds benefit the Club’s historic Building Restoration Fund. Our National Night Out event will be held on Tuesday, August 7th at Orange Grove Park. Join us for inflatables, games, food, music and more! This event is designed to strengthen relationships in our community and continue to demonstrate relationships with public safety. Police and Fire Departments and various other city components.
