While regular host Brad Colerick sets off on a five-week summer hiatus, long-time community mainstay David Plenn is stepping into the host role, ensuring the music does not miss a beat.
The handoff begins Wednesday, July 29, 2026, when singer-songwriters Paula Fong and Dave Tate take the stage at The Daily, located at 1119 Fair Oaks Avenue in South Pasadena. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., with the performance starting promptly at 7:00 p.m.
Headlining the evening is Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Paula Fong, who brings a deeply rooted, international folk sensibility to the South Pasadena stage.
Having spent her formative early summers in the French countryside, Fong’s musical phrasing is subtly shaped by traditional Breton folk music.
Her recent work draws inspiration from iconic voices like Joni Mitchell, Gillian Welch, and Patty Griffin.
Beyond her emerging solo career, Fong previously released two albums alongside Tom Kell and frequently tours with Abby Posner and the Big Fall.
Joining the midweek lineup is Dave Tate, an accomplished musician and frequent traveler across the Western United States and European touring circuits.
Now recognized as one of the most sought-after performers on the California Central Coast, Tate’s style weaves soaring vocal melodies through intricate finger-style acoustic guitar work.
Critics often compare his dynamic range to Paul Simon and Jeff Buckley.
