“I had a big dose of FOMO from missing out on the magic last Wednesday at the Lost Parrot,” said Wine & Song producer, Brad Colerick. “Thanks to David Plenn for guest hosting. I’ll be back this week for another great show with Jamie Drake and Taylor Kelly. See you Wednesday!”
Jamie Drake is one of LA’s best-kept musical songwriting secrets, collaborating with the likes of Moby, Sarah and Sean Watkins of Nickel Creek, and Wilco’s Mikael Jorgensen. In September 2019, she released her breakout album, Everything’s Fine — peppered with indie-folk-pop stylings wrapped in lush orchestrations. In June 2022, her love for early 1970s Laurel Canyon folk unexpectedly meets Rio de Janeiro in New Girl, once again displaying her ability to evolve as a dynamic artist in her time.
Taylor Kelly was born and raised in the suburbs of Rochester, New York, and is now a fixture in the vibrant Philadelphia music scene, further honing her introspective take on jazz, soul, and funk. Smooth, powerful, technically-informed vocals support her eclectic instrumentation and complex arrangements. Both a vocalist and trumpet player, her sound is a dynamic blend of genres. A Berklee College of Music graduate, she has been influenced by artists from Stevie Wonder to Erykah Badu, integrating strong melodic contour and intricate harmonies into lyrically personal and sonically anthemic tracks.
Doors open at 6pm. Show starts at 7pm. Fabulous food and full bar. Lost Parrot Cafe is located at 1929 Huntinton Drive in South Pasadena.
