If you haven’t been to South Pasadena’s WINE & SONG at their residency at Lost Parrot Cafe, this Wednesday would be a great time to check it out! South Pas favorite, Dave Plenn, will be stepping in to host. “Two of my favorite performers will be teaming up and playing as a duo: Tony Gilkyson and Rick Shea,” says Dave. “Both are top notch songwriters and instrumentalists. There will also be a special guest — Gwendolyn, who comes highly recommended by both Tony and Rick. That’s all I need to know! In addition, I’ll play a few songs and there will be a few of my favorites sitting in for a song or two, as well. It’s going to be a great night — please join us!”

Longtime SoCal singer-songwriter Rick Shea got his early musical education in the bars and honky-tonks of San Bernadino where he grew up. With ten critically acclaimed albums, he’s performed all over Southern California, the West Coast, the U.S. and in Europe, and built a solid areer for himself as a solo artist, singer, guitarist and songwriter.
Tony Gilkyson has played and recorded with Lone Justice, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Dave Alvin, Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, K.D. Lang, and X among many others. He has produced recordings for Exene, Cervenka, and sister Eliza Gilkyson. With Tome Waits, he co-produced a couple of Chuck E. Weiss albums. He also played guitar on numerious film soundtracks including the Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line, The Big Lebowski, Don’t Come Knockin’ and All the King’s Men with producer T Bone Burnett. And he grew up right here in South pasadena. Tony and Rick will support each other on this show, hosted by David Plenn with special guest Gwendolyn.
