A crew worked late into Thursday night looking for the origin of a water main break as water gushed down Orange Grove Avenue.

Officials from both the South Pasadena Fire and Police Departments responded to the incident at Grevelia St. and Orange Grove Ave., near the 110 Freeway interchange, just before 9 p.m.

Jose Almeda, an employee with the South Pasadena Public Works Department, was also on the scene, studying architectural plans for the city’s water system while he waited for additional personnel to help resolve the issue.

“It’s definitely a water main break,” said Almeda, “I think it’s near the freeway entrance.”
