Local float officials are encouraging members of the community to submit design concepts to represent the City of South Pasadena in the 2019 Rose Parade.

Next year’s theme celebrates music – the universal language.

While the Tournament of Roses has not officially announced the 2019 parade theme, they are providing a hint for those interested in submitting float designs centered around it. There’s a good chance it has something to do with music based on the following message sent by the TOR.

“Music has the power to not only bring us together but take us back to memories and moments as nothing else can. Music is woven into the fabric of our lives – community, family, friendship and love. Music heals us, defines us, reminds us, and inspires us to be our greater selves. Rhythm, melody, harmony and color all come together to create the soundtrack that defines our lives.”

Design concepts do not have to be elaborate. A simple sketch of an idea will work. Designs become the legal property of South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee and the committee retains the rights to make any changes necessary to incorporate the design idea into a float before the final drawing and color rendering goes to an artist.

Individuals making submissions receive no compensation, monetary or otherwise, for the use of my design and the South Pasadena Tournament of Roses Committee, any legal successor, the City of South Pasadena and the Pasadena
