Walk With Me CTG, an interactive audio experience created by Los Angeles-based theatremaker Katie Lindsay, will be available to the public from June 18 to July 12, 2025, on Jerry Moss Plaza outside the Mark Taper Forum and Ahmanson Theatre. Commissioned and produced by Center Theatre Group (CTG), the project invites participants to explore the cultural and historical landscape of CTG through a self-guided walking tour accompanied by a thoughtfully produced audio narrative.
Discover Hidden Stories at The Music Center
Blending personal reflection with rich historical context, Walk With Me CTG encourages visitors to experience the iconic outdoor spaces of The Music Center in new ways. Lindsay, a longtime CTG audience member and acclaimed director, leads listeners through a journey that explores themes of memory, place, and belonging.
The project is inspired by her earlier pandemic-era work A Walk in My Neighborhood, which LAist described as “genius.” With this new experience, Lindsay reflects on her connection to CTG, examines the theatres’ histories, and highlights the stories of artists who shaped its legacy.
Flexible and Free Public Access
The audio walk is accessible anytime the Jerry Moss Plaza is open and is free to the public. To participate, visitors simply visit CTGLA.org/WALKWITHME on a mobile device, bring headphones, and begin the journey onsite. The experience consists of several 15-minute audio episodes that can be enjoyed individually or as a continuous hour-long walk.
Audience members attending evening performances at the Taper or Ahmanson are encouraged to arrive early and experience the audio tour beforehand—ideally by 6:30 p.m. for the full walkthrough.
A Local Storyteller with Deep Roots
“In 2020, I began walking daily in my neighborhood during the pandemic, and it reshaped how I saw my surroundings,” said Katie Lindsay. “Creating Walk With Me CTG was a way to rediscover the place that inspired me to make theatre. This project is filled with interviews, stories, and history I uncovered about CTG, the plaza’s architecture, and our city’s past. I hope it helps others feel a deeper connection to this space.”
Lindsay’s creative team includes Jessica Hanna (Co-Producer and Story Editor), Nikki Diloreto (Story Editor), Noel Nichols and Uptown Works (Audio Mixing/Sound Design), and a list of distinguished interviewees such as Luis Alfaro, Snehal Desai, Larissa Fasthorse, and many more. CTG staff involved in the project include Brett Webster, Paige Vehlewald, Jessica Doherty, and Keeley Bell.
Artistic Leadership and Community Connection
“Katie isn’t just a talented artist—she’s also a passionate member of the CTG community,” said Snehal Desai, CTG’s Brindell & Milton Gottlieb Artistic Director. “This project reflects our commitment to uplifting local voices and finding inventive ways to engage with Angelenos beyond the walls of our theatres.”
Walk With Me CTG continues CTG’s tradition of commissioning groundbreaking work and making the performing arts more accessible. The experience highlights the organization’s evolving role in Downtown LA and invites visitors to reflect on their own connections to the arts and community.
