Videotheque in South Pasadena, which prides itself in being LA county’s premier indie film stop, has once reopened its indoor space for customers, following guidance from health authorities.

You can again browse through the video library onsite, although customers will be limited to only eight at a time. That doesn’t prevent you from searching Videotheque’s selection online via their website, www.vidtheque.com

“Similar to your favorite bookshop, we’re a place that’s fun to visit,” says the owner, Mark Wright. “You always walk away with something interesting that you may not have expected walking in.”

Videotheque is “a place for film lovers,” Wright says, and it’s your source for independent, foreign, cult, classic, documentary, new release, and rare cinema rentals and sales.

When COVID-19 restrictions are fully lifted, Wright hopes to once again be able to host open-air screenings, especially during the summer and around Halloween.

“We’ve done those over the years. And there’s some bargains to be had with prepaid rental plans from five to 100. We’ve (also) got some discounted rental packages,” he adds.

Videotheque turned 18 last March, and promises to provide the same kind of service that local customers have come to love over the years.

If there’s a main factor that earns customer’s trust, Wright says it’s their deep catalog of classics or cult movies, as well as their curated new and used vinyl for sale sections that have also done well in recent years.

The business also does a substantial amount of sales online, selling out t-shirts, posters, cards, films and vinyl records through various online platforms.

The store, located at 1020 Mission Street, #J,  is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. All customers will need to wear a mask when they’re inside to browse or pick up orders.
