
A powerful opportunity for aspiring teen artists is coming to the Greater Pasadena Area this fall. The Unusual Suspects Youth Theatre Conservatory, in collaboration with Boston Court Pasadena, will offer free, professional-level theater education to local 9th and 10th graders, starting in September 2025 and running through April 2026.
Applications are now open for this tuition-free program, which is limited to just 20 students. Participants will receive hands-on instruction in acting, writing, directing, and design, working side-by-side with industry professionals to create and perform original plays.
What the Conservatory Offers

Workshops Led by Professionals
Students will receive training in multiple disciplines including:
- Acting and performance techniques
- Playwriting and storytelling
- Directing and creative leadership
- Set and costume design
Original Student Work
At the heart of the program is the chance for each student to collaboratively develop and stage original theatrical works, mentored throughout the process by experienced theater artists.
Free and Inclusive
Thanks to the generous support of The Unusual Suspects’ partners and funders, the conservatory is completely free of charge to accepted applicants.
