National Night Out | Fun & More at Orange Grove Park

The annual community-building campaign promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6, at Orange Grove Park in South Pasadena.

Admission is free to big event featuring games, food, inflatables and more

Slated from 6 to 9 p.m. various city services personnel will be available to answer questions.

This event is designed to promote community camaraderie “and make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live,” explained Officer Richard Lee, with the South Pasadena Police Department. Come meet your police, fire, and various other city departments.”

Those taking part can learn how they can get involved with the community through Neighborhood Watch, CERT and the Public Safety Commission.

Since 1984, National Night Out is a nationwide campaign that helps promote a partnership between the community and the police department to help fight crime, and to bring neighborhoods together in a friendly environment.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to help make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Further, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Millions of neighbors take part in National Night Out across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August.

Neighborhoods host block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and various other community events with safety demonstrations, seminars, youth events, visits from emergency personnel, exhibits and more.

National Night Out will also feature game booths for children and food trucks.
