
In 1893, George W. Glover founded South Pasadena’s first successful newspaper, South Pasadenan.
He ran the paper for 15 years during the fledgling municipality’s formative years. Glover was a passionate tree lover, and on April 24, 1894, local volunteers met at his newspaper office to plant one thousand shade trees in the city.
Today, the South Pasadenan is enjoying a rebirth as the city’s online source for news and entertainment
