Dyslexia is the most common cause of reading, writing and spelling difficulties. The Frostig Center invites the public to a simulation workshop that will allow participants to experience the challenges that people with dyslexia face every day.

Barb Langeloh, an educational therapist and president of the Los Angeles Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, will conduct the simulation. This free event will be held at The Frostig Center on Tuesday, September 25, from 6-8 p.m.

During the workshop, participants will rotate through six stations that demonstrate common symptoms of dyslexia. Station leaders guide participants through each 8-minute activity, followed by a brief discussion. The simulation provides a lively, thought-provoking activity for parents, teachers or anyone interested in better understanding the lives of individuals with dyslexia.

It is part of The Frostig Center’s efforts to improve the lives of children with learning challenges through research, community outreach and Frostig School. The school offers a full range of academic and support services for children with learning differences such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, high-functioning autism and ADHD.
