The Friends of the South Pasadena Library celebrate summer with exciting programs, silent auctions, and community engagement updates throughout June 2025.
South Pasadena Library Kicks Off Summer Events
The South Pasadena Public Library is welcoming summer with a variety of engaging programs for all ages. Thanks to the continued generosity of Friends of the Library members, the season will feature the Restoration Concert Series, the annual Summer Reading Program, and the return of Wonderful Wednesdays—a series of fun family events starting June 11 with free Kona Ice and a juggling show by Michael Rayner.
The Summer Reading Program is now open for registration, inviting readers of all ages to participate. Tickets for the Restoration Concert Series are now available on the Friends’ website.

Monthly Silent Auction Now Open
The Friends Bookstore’s June Silent Auction features a curated collection of modern and classic books. Items are on display near the library’s main desk, and the catalog is available on the Friends website. Bidding ends on Saturday, June 28 at 1:00 p.m.
Library Site Plan Project: Community Input Drives Progress
The first round of public feedback for South Pas Forward: Reimagine Our Library Park Campus has concluded, with over 600 community members completing the City’s survey. Group 4 Architecture has assessed the existing facilities and services of the Library, Senior Center, and Recreation Division. Based on community input and findings, site development options will be unveiled in July and August for further feedback.
Stay informed by signing up for project updates via email, visiting the project webpage, or attending the monthly Site Plan Ad Hoc Committee meetings held every first Thursday at 7:00 p.m.

Friends Bookstore and Last Chance Book Sale
Located on the second floor, the Friends Bookstore offers a wide selection of books and accepts cash, check, and credit cards.

Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Closed Monday & Sunday
The Last Chance Book Sale, available on the first floor, offers select books for just 50¢ during library hours.
