Members of the community recently completed the South Pasadena Police Department’s 10-week Citizen’s Academy.

Following the ceremony participants echoed their appreciation for the course, which provided them with an in-depth look at the local police department.

Attendees indicated they felt better informed on the role of police officers and how they perform their job.

Police Chief Ortiz and Captain Brian Solinsky attended the final Citizen’s Academy meeting and presented the certificates and challenge coins, indicating the completion of the course.

“The Citizen’s Academy is a great way for the public to get an exclusive, inside look at what the South Pasadena Police Department does on a daily basis to protect and serve its residents,” explained Ortiz.
