SPHS Girls Water Polo Team 8-4 Overall

Tigers are 2-2 in Rio Hondo League action as 2017-18 season continues

South Pasadena High’s girls’ water polo team is now 2-2 in Rio Hondo League play.

Overall, the Tigers are 8-4 on the 2017-18 season and look to improve on that mark when they travel to Oaks Christian on Friday in a non-league match.

South Pasadena is coming off a 13-7 loss to La Canada on Jan. 23 in league action. On Jan. 20, the Tigers fell to Santiago 20-7.

Prior to that defeat, the Tigers recorded three straight victories, beating Pasadena Poly 8-7, Rancho Bernardo 13-10, and Mt. Carmel 14-3.

The Tigers recently competed in America’s Finest City Water Polo Invitational in San Diego where they competed against high quality teams, achieving victories against Mount Carmel, Rancho Bernardo, and Poly Riverside which all bodes well for their season and CIF.
